Bukkoji buddhist temple is located southeast of Shijo Karasuma, the center of Kyoto City’s offices.

Three weeping cherry trees bloom deep red in early April in front of the large halls of Daishido and Amidado. These three cherry trees are historic cherry trees planted by Prince Chichibu, Prince Takamatsu, and Prince Mikasa in 1972.

There is a cafe and gallery called “D&DEPARTMENT KYOTO” inside the temple grounds and you can enjoy seasonal menus at the cafe and gallery linked to the local community.
